The swimming pool

The spring leaves

against the crisp blue sky

reminds me of the smell

of the swimming pool

The fond kiss of the sun

hair blonding in natural streaks

hotdogs

riding my bicycle

free as the birds

The lovely blue sky

pink blossoms

the garden beds sing

of younger years

where i am barefooted

chocolate stained

ready

steady

to jump

into icy water

All the magic of spring

stirs in the clouds

which gather

for the afternoon thunderstorm

The blue sea overhead

is pouring

sunshine

in my hand

I am warm

I am the warmest blue

My last poem

I wrote my last poem

with my hand over my heart

waiting for the beat to slow

Veins stretched out for miles

right up to heavens skies

the tingle

the after taste

the burn

I'd stick this time

  I knew it

here are some things

you need to know

I'd forgiven you all

I forgive you

I love you

I wrote my last poem

with a single stream

of tears

thought about

the things

I could never be

all the ways

failure had tripped

the good girl

I wrote my last poem

thinking of

Sylvia Plath

Marilyn Monroe

Valuim

John Doe

Of all the days

I would not know

of the house

of dreams

of the devil

it seems

An angel tearing down

the tingling sky

I did all these things

the day I died

Somewhere over there

where the waters meet

a fish leapt into the air

in its eye

was despair
